Message from our club Honorary President Mr. Ray Scrafton

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to players, officials and sponsors visiting Leeds Corinthians RUFC website.

It made me very proud when Peter Hallas asked me to be his vice president and then to become president of Leeds Corinthians. When I came here from the Yorkshire Copper Works I was made very welcome and I knew straight away that this was the only club for me.

I would like to make a special welcome to our new head coach Roger Daniel and wish him every success in the coming season. It is good news for the club that Neil Haywood will be 1st team captain again for the new season, as I think that 1st team will have a very good season and hopefully will be challenging for promotion.

Dave Murray, as my vice captain will be helping me with the 2nd team and with all our years of experience and knowledge we should be onto a winner. I would also like to thank Nigel Foster and Ian Welldon for bringing us some of their players through from the junior ranks to play open age rugby for the first time and I wish them all the best.

We begin this season with high hopes of cup and league success. All we want from the players in the 1st and 2nd team is commitment to training and playing

Last but not least I would also like to give special thanks to the Management Committee, bar and kitchen staff for all of their continued hard work.

2nd Xv Match Report

Leeds Corinthians 0
Old Modernians 2nds 69

A weakened Corinthians 2nd XV took on a very well on a well organised Old Mods 2nd XV. Due to club injuries and good performances on the pitch, the 2nd XV lost a few players to the 1st XV for this weeks fixture. With only 9 players to select from just an hour before kick, Captain Ray Scrafton and a few others made emergency phone calls to gather together a full XV just in time for kick off. A good Corinthians forward display in the early encounters promised a close hard fought game. Unfortunately due to Corinthians own mistakes and some very good play from the Old Mods back line the game was all but lost by half time. This did nothing to dampen Corinthians spirit as they continued their never give up attitude till the final whistle. Final Score Corinthians 2nd XV 0-69 Old Mods 2nd XV. A big thanks must me given to debutants Harry and Josh for a very good display.
